Lorena Alonso, Associate, brings nearly 20 years of nonprofit experience to the LMDA team. She has served in different capacities in organizations including the Art Institute of Chicago and Casa Central. Through her varied experiences, Lorena has developed expertise in the areas of nonprofit management, strategic planning, fundraising strategy development and execution, annual funds, event management, board development, corporate and foundation relationship management, individual and major gift fundraising and volunteer management.
Lorena earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maryland and is currently enrolled in the Kellogg School of Management's Nonprofit Scholars Program. She has been a regular guest presenter at the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration and has served as a consultant to various nonprofit organizations. She is an active volunteer in her community and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is also a volunteer mentor for young school age children.
